There is HOPE
One time a month, moms sit together and share their stories. Stories of struggle, stories of triumph, stories of despair and stories of hope. Some of the moms are at the start of their journey with Postpartum Depression(PPD) and some are close to the end, but most are in the middle, right in the thick of it.
Babies, toddlers, endless laundry, sleepless nights, racing thoughts, intrusive thoughts, sadness, hopelessness, therapy appointments, medication, supplements, self care and more. The list goes on and on. Not much is held back.
The overall atmosphere of the group is one of acceptance. It doesn’t matter what you fed your kids for dinner last night or when you last gave them baths. No one is judging you on your clothes or your hair or that you lost it this morning and took out your rage on your husband. Most of us say, “me too.” “I’ve done that. I’ve felt that way.” Each mom’s story may look a little different, but the feelings of inadequacy and guilt and fear are still right there.
These moms are SO STRONG! They are fighting their way out of the hole of depression and anxiety and back into their lives. They are fighting for themselves, for their kids, for their partners, for their family. They are WARRIORS!
The group only meets once a month, but the connection is there and stays during the in-between weeks. We know we are not alone in our struggles. We have connected with others who know the pain of PPD and the bond is strong.
If you are struggling after having your baby, whether your baby is 1 week, 1 month or 1 year old, come join us. We have created a safe space for you to be yourself, to find help and to most importantly, find HOPE.
Please share this post and flyer with anyone you know who has PPD or is having a hard time adjusting to being a mom.
Blessings, Celeste
