Welcome Kylie!

We are so excited to welcome a new NWI Center for Maternal Wellness volunteer, Kylie Carden!

"My name is Kylie, and I am so thrilled to be a volunteer at the NWI Center for Maternal Wellness! I'm a registered nurse certified in inpatient obstetrics and a childbirth educator by trade, but my greatest jobs are holding the titles of wife to Jake and Mommy to my two sons, Abe and Andy. I love caring for women and their babies, camping with my family, the outdoors, anything to do with aviation, and front porch sitting with a good book. My dreams are to become a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who specializes in women in the perinatal period and to also learn how to fly from my dad to achieve my pilot's license one day. I've personally struggled with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders with both of my pregnancies and postpartum. I also live with the diagnosis of ADHD, which I now have learned from my supports can be negatively challenged with fluctuations in hormones. I've struggled with suicidal ideation, depression, anxiety, and panic attacks that led to me going to the emergency room at my all-time lowest. I've been so blessed to be on the path of healing at the hands of the support I received at the NWI Center for Maternal Wellness, my amazing ADHD coach, my therapist, my psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, my loving family, and my faith in Jesus. I cannot wait to be there for other women like I've been supported so graciously!"
