We are so excited to welcome a new NWI Center for Maternal Wellness volunteer, Kate Taylor!
Kate brings over 25 years of experience as a licensed and board-certified music therapist. She is also trained as a holistic life coach and birth doula. Her career has spanned settings from neonatal intensive care to hospice—always with the heart of showing how music can support healing, resilience, and connection. With a special focus on perinatal wellness, Kate has developed therapeutic programs that nurture emotional well-being through creativity and expression during life’s most transformative and challenging moments.
Kate has also had the privilege of training and mentoring healthcare professionals and researchers in the use of music for childbirth, maternal wellness, and healing. Kate is particularly passionate about fostering resilience, reducing burnout, and encouraging self-expression—values that beautifully align with the Center's mission of bringing opportunities for maternal wellness through creativity, compassion, and community.
Beyond her professional life, Kate is married to her husband Matt, and together they have two daughters who inspire her daily. Their home is full of love (and just a little chaos!) thanks to their loyal Rhodesian Ridgeback—who happens to share Kate’s birthday—and a mischievous black cat.
We are thrilled to have Kate’s warmth, expertise, and heart for families as part of our volunteer community. Please join us in welcoming Kate to the Center!
