A New Beginning

I’m officially launching my business, Childbirth Melodies, into the world! I have a business logo, trademark, business cards, office space….that’s all you need, right?! Establishing a small business is no small feat, especially with three young kids at home, but it’s coming together little by little. I think “patience” is the key word for this process, which works for life in general, too. Everything happens when it’s supposed to and usually combined with a lot of hard work. Thankfully, having three kiddos gave me the “hard work” experience!

Through Childbirth Melodies, I am combining my love for Music Therapy, Childbirth and Maternal Mental Health with the goal of helping moms and families as they journey through childbirth, parenthood, and life in general. I want to walk with moms through the highs and lows of motherhood, supporting them as they balance taking care of themselves and their children. When moms are expecting their first child, they go to childbirth class, talk to their OB or Midwife about their physical health, have a shower (or two!) to get all the “supplies”, etc., but when do we talk to the mom about her mental health? When do we talk to mom about prioritizing her needs, so she can take care of her family day and night? Motherhood is SO hard and it’s important to set realistic expectations for new moms, especially during the baby’s first three months of life.

I hope that when moms come to Childbirth Melodies, they will breathe a sigh of relief. Moms will know they are heard and cared for and that their needs matter. They will be able to recharge and refocus and go home with a new energy and new perspective on what their life can look like. The journey of motherhood and life is hard, but it doesn’t have to be lonely or hopeless. Come and join the Childbirth Melodies family and let’s walk through motherhood and life together.
