Welcome!

The Northwest Indiana Center for Maternal Wellness is a non-profit offering education, peer support and resources to mothers and families struggling with Perinatal Mental Health Disorders. Our overall vision is to empower mothers to advocate for their mental, emotional and physical wellness at every stage of life.

A note from our Executive Director:

Hi! My name is Celeste Chapko and I live in Northwest Indiana with my husband and three children. I have worked as a Music Therapist, an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher, a Birth Doula and currently, as a Perinatal Mental Health Therapist.

My interest in Maternal Mental Health stems from my own personal experience with Postpartum Depression and Anxiety. I struggled for many years and had access to therapy and medication but was not aware of the benefits of peer support.  At the NWI Center for Maternal Wellness, we are passionate about supporting moms during pregnancy and postpartum and are excited to continue expanding our reach, now as a non-profit.

Our team includes a Marketing Manager and 10+ volunteers who offer education and peer support services to moms struggling with their mental health. We connect moms to resources and support them on their motherhood journey. We offer many different types of support services, including 1:1 and group peer support, classes and social events, and all are free to Northwest Indiana moms.

Our office is located in downtown Crown Point at 138 S. Main St., Suite 200.  We are on the second floor of the Old Bank Building.

Please reach out if you need support. We would love to meet you!
